Mid-Week Lenten Services: Wednesdays at Noon & 7pm. As we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, we will focus each Wednesday of Lent on one of the six chief parts of Luther's Small Catechism--the summary of our Christian faith and doctrine. Remaining services will be held March 22, 20 and April 5 in the Church Sanctuary.

Men's Campout: Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 for any adults who are interested. The date coincides with the opening day of trout season, but non-fishermen are certainly welcome. RESCHEDULED-ELC Communion Assistant Training: On March 19 there will be Communion Assistant Training after the late services in the sanctuary. All Elders and interested members are invited to attend.

WOMEN OF EMMANUEL: Our LWML will be hosting an evening of painting (a picture, not walls) on April 4 (Tuesday). We can only take 12 people, so look for a sign-up sheet on the board across from our credenza. This will cost $25 and may last longer than our usual meetings, but should be lots of fun! Please let us know if you would like to join us!

Leisurites: On Tuesday, March 21 at 10:45 am we will meet at the First Baptist Church for a program given by the AC Reynolds Madrigal Singers. Lunch will follow in their Church dining room at the cost of $3. Everyone, regardless of age is welcome. Please use the Charlotte Street parking lot and entrance. Please sign-up on the narthex bulletin board so we can give them a lunch count.

The iNeighborhood Program is a program designed to identify who your neighbors are and how you can reach out to them. The current activity is to go door to door in Wilshire Park to invite our neighbors to participate in the activities of Emmanuel such as our Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Cantata. After the first of the year we will identify activities at Emmanuel and invite our neighbors to participate. If interested in participating, please contact Ron Roby at 407-647-3559.

A Man Named Luther - Part I "The Man" led by John Mehrling in the Sanctuary. This study is devoted to Martin Luther - a monk whose Spirit-inspired grasp of God's justification of sinner through faith in the Savior was the cornerstone of the Protestant Reformation.

Nursery: (ages 3-5) open 10:45-12:15 for the 11:00 services. Nursery is located in room 106—which is downstairs in the hallway below the sanctuary across from the trophy case next to the ECE Director's office.

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts meet on Tuesday nights: Boy Scouts at 7:00 pm in the church narthex/lobby area, and Cub Scouts at 7:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall. Boy Scouts, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, or are 11 years old or have completed the 5th grade but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objective of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. For younger boys, we also have a Cub Scout troop. Adult Choir meets on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the music room.  We need all voice parts. Contact Kevin Lorenz if you have any questions. We break during the summer months.

Linus Blankets, sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans  are a group of folks who meet every 2nd Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall who make special blankets for children going through some form of crisis or tragedy, such as hospitalizations, accidents, fires, etc. They are VERY simple to make and are a lot of fun so come join us! Volunteer Opportunities in our Community:

—Serving Lunch at the Veteran’s Quarters: On the 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and 5th) Monday’s of every month, folks at Emmanuel provide lunch for the men at our local Veteran’s Shelter on Tunnel Road. Want to help? Contact Sheila Edwards at 615-504-0642; thank you.

—Serving Dinner at the Steadfast House: This Ministry serves Women and Children who are coming out of abusive relationships. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month folks from Emmanuel serve an evening meal for these broken families.

The Mission and Outreach Singers were formed 12 years ago as an outreach ministry of Emmanuel.  They go to area Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Prisons and Shelters. Monthly visits to different facilities are scheduled where they share scripture, have prayer and pass out devotional booklets. Members find that while they go to be a blessing, they always come away feeling that they are the ones who were blessed.  To find out more, contact Doug Greene at 658-2114.


Adopt-A-College Student Program: Barbara Sullivan will be heading up this program to match members with Emmanuel's college students. Just send a note of encouragement to a college student every so often and let them know you are praying for them.
