June 12—16 Vacation Bible School Theme: Maker Fun Factory! Imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they are lovingly crafted by God. Each day at Maker Fun Factory VBS, kids travel through field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventures. Our VBS camp is FREE and kicks off our Summer Rocks Camp season. VBS runs from 9am—Noon. Afternoon care services are available for the week of VBS for a fee of $100 per child. There will be a special Congregational meeting to decide on giving Pastor a paid 6-week leave of refresh and renewal. The Elder Ministry team put together a recommendation to the BoD to give Pastor some time away to refresh, reflect and to have some alone time with God. His time away will be the month of July and the first two weeks in August. Please plan on being at the meeting.

The iNeighborhood Program is a program designed to identify who your neighbors are and how you can reach out to them. The current activity is to go door to door in Wilshire Park to invite our neighbors to participate in the activities of Emmanuel such as our Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Cantata. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts meet on Tuesday nights: Boy Scouts at 7:00 pm in the church narthex/lobby area, and Cub Scouts at 7:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall. Boy Scouts, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, or are 11 years old or have completed the 5th grade but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objective of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. For younger boys, we also have a Cub Scout troop. Adopt-A-College Student Program: Barbara Sullivan will be heading up this program to match members with Emmanuel's college students. Just send a note of encouragement to a college student every so often and let them know you are praying for them. The Mission and Outreach Singers were formed 12 years ago as an outreach ministry of Emmanuel. They go to area Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Prisons and Shelters. Monthly visits to different facilities are scheduled where they share scripture, have prayer and pass out devotional booklets. Members find that while they go to be a blessing, they always come away feeling that they are the ones who were blessed. To find out more, contact Doug Greene at 658-2114.
